The Challenge

In April of 1998 it looked like the odds of completing the Walk Across Canada were slim.

I wasn’t an athlete. And—I was 52 years old.

The Promise

The walk across Canada is what I felt I had to do in order to provide the research community with the funding required to dig deep into finding a cure for a disease most people had never heard of.

It’s also the promise I made to our son.

The Achievement

My goal was to accomplish something extraordinary and bring awareness to Duchenne muscular dystrophy

It took 286 days, and on Jauary 20th, 1999, I completed the walk across Canada. The walk that was later recognized by the Guinness World Records as the fasted crossing of Canada on foot.

Today, I Share The Story That Still Moves Audiences Across Canada

I love speaking to a live audience because I have the opportunity to share a true story that happened to real people.

Together, we'll share a roller-coaster ride where you'll experience the toughest, the most mentally challenging, and yes—even the funniest days on the road. You'll sense firsthand what grit and perseverance are all about, and you'll come to understand where inner strength and determination come from.
