GOING THE DISTANCE
John Davidson is the Guinness Book World Record Holder for the fastest crossing of Canada on foot and the Founder of Jesse’s Journey, which has evolved to become Defeat Duchenne Canada.
Here’s what John has to say about his incredible journey.
What is it in life that makes you truly happy?
Over the years I have been very blessed in my life. And now—as I’m approaching the start of my 77th trip around the sun—it’s my time to give back even more—and to give back for free.
The global pandemic has changed all of us. I believe we are becoming more caring people and we’re finding new and better ways of doing things.
If you have taken the 60 seconds to look at the video on this page, and if you believe that a picture is worth a thousand words, then you already know that as a dad there was only one life altering situation in our family, and I did the best I could in facing that challenge.
As a speaker—I have just one story to tell. It’s a true story that happened to real people.
Lots of speakers have a huge offering of resources designed to either make your life better or change your life completely—if you buy their products. I don’t have that.
Besides, deep down inside, you’ve probably always known that only you can change your life. And I think you’ll do that when you really want to.
As a speaker with a 30-year background in radio and television, and someone who’s life took a dramatic turn—I love speaking to people who enjoy a story. You and your audience will see and hear a presentation designed to be the spark of inspiration that lights your flame of desire to make a difference.
My wish is that you and your group will realize that actions often speak louder than words.
If I’m able to show you just how true that is, and if you and your group take action to achieve your goal and, in some way, make the world a better place—then I will have succeeded.
