The Promise
I think the question people want to have answered at this point is: why would someone want to do this?
If you are a parent—you probably already know the answer to this question. For me the answer is in what I believe.
I believe all children should have a chance to experience all the good life has to offer—and when you set out to make a difference for children—quitting is not an option. I hope you will want to help me make that happen.
My projection was that I would spend 275 days on the road walking 33 kilometres a day rain, snow or shine. In those ten months my journey would span six times zones and more than eight-and-a-half thousand kilometres from the Atlantic Ocean to the Pacific Ocean.

This is what I had to do in order to provide the research community with the amount of funding needed to dig deep into finding a cure for a disease most people had never heard of.
It’s also the promise I made to our young son.
